Our Department’s mission “to care for, protect and serve the community with integrity and excellence” serves as the foundation as we go about our daily responsibilities of providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week rapid response to medical aid calls, auto accidents, wildland, brush and structure fires. In the event of an emergency, always dial 911.
From its beginning in 1963 as a volunteer organization, the Department has grown to 15 Administrative Staff members, 51 paid Firefighter/Paramedics and 34 Volunteers that work alongside our paid personnel. The community is now served by four strategically located stations within our District.
We are pleased to provide our citizens and business community with service that extends beyond responding to emergencies to include public safety education, tours of our stations, child car seat safety inspections, blood pressure checks, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector give away program, home safety inspections, rattlesnake removals, and vehicle lockout assistance to name a few.
Many of these services, as well as the annual holiday tradition of the “Santa Run”, are made possible through the support of the El Dorado Hills Firefighters’ Association, a dedicated community service organization. I encourage you to visit the Public Services section of this website to familiarize yourself with the many ways that we may be of assistance to you. We are energized by our partnership with the community we serve and encourage you to get to know your Firefighters by visiting our stations and introducing yourself at community events.
In closing, we would like you to know that we take our Department motto, “Your Safety ... Our Commitment” to heart and that the men and women of the El Dorado Hills Fire Department are honored to serve this community.
Sincerely,
EL DORADO HILLS FIRE DEPARTMENT
