On June 17, 2010, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department Honor Guard proudly represented the Department in honoring our Nation’s Veterans during a flagpole dedication ceremony.

The ceremony, dedicating a new flag pole and plaque, honored 35 Veterans from multiple branches of the armed forces with a combined total of 382 years of service to our country. One of the Veterans is a P.O.W. that survived the Bataan Death March. These Veterans – both men and women – gave so much of their lives to protect the freedoms that we enjoy. It is amazing and humbling to sit with them and listen as they share their experiences.
