The El Dorado Hills Fire District is currently accepting bids for a new Brush Truck.  Each bid shall be sealed and filed in the office of the Fire District’s Fire Chief on or before April 30, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Bids will be opened on April 30, 2015 at 4:05 p.m. Please see the attached Request for Proposal and the Bid Specifications.

Fire Prevention Specialist Walter Jukes retired from the El Dorado Hills Fire Department on Monday, December 29, 2014.  He has provided loyal, dedicated, and outstanding service to the El Dorado Hills Community and Fire Department during his six years of service.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department reminds you that a very dry Christmas tree can present a serious fire danger. It is best to remove your old Christmas tree before it becomes too dry.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be collecting new unwrapped toys for the TOYS FOR TOTS PROGRAM at all of our fire stations up to December 11th. Toys for Tots does not accept used toys, clothing, or food for the program.

The new Station 84 construction has begun. The estimated move-in date to the new station will be September 2015.

Remember that with the time change, you should change the batteries in your smoke detectors!

Insurance companies in California have been steadily adjusting their risk tolerance as a result of large losses that they have suffered from devastating fires. As a result, many insurance companies are cancelling or not renewing homeowner's insurance policies. For some residents, the insurance companies are requesting large vegetation clearances and rates are dramatically increasing.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department will be partnering with El Dorado Hills Rotary Club to do our Annual Smoke Detector Giveaway. We will be visiting White Rock Village Mobile Home Park offering to install and check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and batteries free of charge.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department says goodbye to Battalion Chief John Niehues.  John Niehues dedicated 24 years of service to the El Dorado Hills Fire Department and community.  A flag ceremony took place on Saturday, September 27, 2014 honoring John and his years of service.

Yesterday, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued an emergency proclamation for El Dorado and Siskiyou counties due to the effects of the King and Boles fires, which have burned thousands of acres, destroyed homes and other structures and damaged critical infrastructure. The growth from yesterday has bumped up the total size of the fire to 70,944 acres. There are currently 3,695 fire personnel working this fire.

El Dorado Hills Fire Department is participating in a fundraiser at Chili's Bar and Grill located in Town Center in El Dorado Hills. Fire personnel and Chief Officers are helping serve lunch and dinner on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Chili's Bar and Grill in a fundraising effort to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Notice is hereby given that the President of the Board of Directors has called a Regional Committee Meeting for Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 4:00 PM at 1050 Wilson Blvd., El Dorado Hills.  The purpose of this meeting is to have discussions with designated employee representatives regarding matter within the scope of the Agency's Memorandum of Understanding and the staffing proposal related to the annexation of Latrobe FPD.  The public will have the opportunity to address the Committee on this item before closed session.
