Fire Chief Announces Retirement

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department announces the retirement of Chief Brian K. Veerkamp effective January 19, 2011.   Chief Veerkamp has exemplified the El Dorado Hills Fire Department’s  Mission Statement “to serve the community of El Dorado Hills with integrity and excellence!”

Chief Veerkamp began his Fire Service career as a Volunteer/Paid Call Firefighter with the City of Placerville in 1981.  He became a paid Professional Firefighter in 1983.  In 1993, he was hired on as Deputy Chief for the El Dorado Hills Fire Department.  In 2007, after waiting patiently to move up the ranks, Chief Veerkamp was promoted to Fire Chief.

Chief Veerkamp’s love for the Community and the Fire Service is evident by his strong desire to help others.  We are grateful, Chief Veerkamp, for your hard work and commitment to the Department, the Fire Service and the community of El Dorado Hills.  You will be missed.
