According to the National Fire Protection Association, 47,700 home fires in the U.S. are caused by electrical failure or malfunction each year. These fires result in 418 deaths, 1,570 injuries and $1.4 billion in property damage. Overloaded electrical circuits is a major cause of residential fires.

#EDHFire Station 91 located on 7660 South Shingle Road has been closed. An inspection was completed on the fire station and determined to have mold issues. For the safety of our employees, our crews have been moved to the Odd Fellows Hall during normal staffing hours so that we can continue to service the community of Latrobe. We will post updates once a course of action is determined.

This is our 52nd year of bringing Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the EDHFA elves to El Dorado Hills. The Santa Run started in 1963 and we have not missed one since. Your elves are all volunteers from the El Dorado Hills Firefighters Association (EDHFA). The EDHFA is made up of both volunteer and career Firefighters and Administration. We are honored to keep this tradition alive and thriving in the community of El Dorado Hills.
This year if you are looking for a meaningful way to impact the lives of helpless and homeless animals, consider donating to the El Dorado County Animal Shelter. Donations can be dropped off at any of our Fire Stations.
When American flags are faded or tattered, residents often bring them to the fire stations be be properly retired. Alaina and Carina Baxter, 14-year-old twins presented the El Dorado Hills Fire Department with a beautiful, handmade American Flag Case to house these retired flags. The sisters completed this flag case as their Girl Scout Silver Project and they are teaching young people and adults the importance of retiring the American flag properly. The twins say “It shows respect for our country.”
