Empower Your Neighborhood to Reduce Risk

The Firewise USA Program encourages neighbors to work together to proactively reduce wildfire hazards in their communities. Recognized by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), this nationwide initiative provides a framework for organizing local action and earning national recognition for wildfire preparedness.

El Dorado Hills residents can take part by joining or forming a Firewise USA site. With support from local fire agencies, CAL FIRE, and national partners, communities can:

• Assess wildfire risks
• Create and implement a mitigation plan
• Organize annual education or fuel-reduction activities
• Earn official Firewise USA recognition
