"Our Mission: We, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, exist to serve and protect the Community through emergency management."

New Changes for the 2014 Vacant Lot Program

Two major changes have been implemented to the Fire Department's existing Unimproved Property Hazard Abatement Standard for 2014.

1. The clearance of hazardous weeds, brush and other vegetation, including trimming trees to 6 feet above ground, has been increased from 30 feet to 100 feet from combustible structures on adjacent parcels.

2. We are discontinuing the voluntary contracting program for abatement of weeds by the district contractor. It is the parcel owner's responsibility to secure a contractor for abatement of weeds. For a list of local contractors, please click here. The El Dorado Hills Fire Department does not endorse or recommend weed abatement contractors. This list is provided for convenience only.

Vacant lots have been inspected and owners that are out of compliance have been notified. The lots must be in compliance by May 26, 2014. Lots that are non-compliant will be notified and a property tax lien will be placed against the subject property.  Please visit the Vacant Lot Program page for more information regarding this program.
